Champion ONE Launches New Tunable DWDM SFP+ Optical Transceivers
New Tunable SFP+ Technologies from Champion ONE Enable Service Providers to Turn Up Circuits Faster and Reduce Their Sparing Costs Dramatically
BEACHWOOD, Ohio – January 07, 2015 –Champion ONE, the leading supplier of compatible optical transceivers, today announced the general availability of its new tunable DWDM SFP+ pluggable transceivers, uTune Director™ support, and SFP+ Next Day Dense Wave (NDDW) DWDM transceivers. The introduction of these new optical components enables telecom, datacom, and enterprises operating a DWDM network to significantly reduce their sparing costs, improve their operational efficiencies, and turn up new customers or circuits in a fraction of the time it would normally take.
These tunable SFP+ transceivers are available in 80km distances and can be tuned to any of 102 standard ITU channels, at C-band 50GHz spacing. They are available in both linear and limiting electrical interfaces (1.65w max – limiting version).
Fixed channel DWDM sparing costs can be substantially reduced through the use of Champion ONE’s uTune DirectorTM. This compact stand-alone device allows end users to self-select any DWDM channel for each tunable SFP+ transceiver, tune it, and set it as a fixed-channel DWDM optic on demand.
These SFP+ transceivers will also be added to Champion ONE’s Next Day Dense WaveTM initiative. This innovation eliminates the typical 8 to 12 week lead time for DWDM components, thus driving 2-3 months of revenue that would have been lost otherwise.
